dec 16, 1773 - Boston Tea Party
Description:
The Boston Tea Party was the first major act of defiance from the colonists against the British. It was a political protest against Britain for enforcing “taxation without representation”. The British thought the taxes were fair since most of the British’s debt was from fighting wars for the colonists. The colonists dumped 342 chest of British East India Company tea into the Boston harbor.
