Description:
In 1777 George Washington moved his army to Valley Forge for the winter. They left on June 19, 1778. Valley Forge was a strategic location 20 miles behind British occupied Philadelphia. The 6 months at Valley Forge were difficult to survive. The cold temperatures, lack of supplies, and diseases made it miserable for the soldiers.
Friedrich Wilhelm Rudolf Gerhard August helped train Washington's' soldiers at the encampment. More importantly he installs confidence and disipline which they really need.
