Description:

The second series of large scale massacres of Armenians to occur in the empire. As the Sultan's reign became increasingly unstable, Turkish nationalism was beginning to rise causing violence between Turks and Armenians in the city of Adana, where the tragedy originated. Overall it is estimated roughly 30,000 Armenians were killed during the massacres and these events increased tensions between Armenians and Turks.
