The Battle of Lexington was a true historical moment in the American History. It was the first battle of the American Revolutionary War. It started off when some British troops arrived in Lexington and were met with some colonists. The commander of the colonists ordered them to retreat because the were outnumbered, but a shot rang out right then. No one knows who took that first shot, but shots broke out from both sides. The American Revolutionary War has started, there is no going back. After a few hours, the British started retreating back to Boston and met up with loyalists, their enforcements on the way. The colonists continued to pursue them, but the British eventually made it back safely to Charlestown Neck.
