dec 16, 1773 - Boston Tea Party

Description:

The Boston Tea Party happened on Thursday, December 16, 1773. This event was the first organized protest the colonists arranged against the British and it eventually led to the start of the American Revolution. The Boston Tea Party is an event where colonists dumped $1,700,000 dollars worth of tea into the Boston Harbor in protest of the Tea Act. Up until this point, colonists have been taxed with all kinds of unbelievable taxes and they are not happy with it. When the Tea Act was established, the colonists could not take it anymore. They feel that they are being taxed with no reason, since they did not even have a representative in the Parliament.
