mar 22, 1765 - Stamp Act passed

Description:

The Stamp Act was a new tax after the Sugar Act that really angered the colonists of America. Stamps had to be bought for all kinds of different products, including documents and newspapers. The Stamp Act was established because the British government was deeply in debt after the Seven years War. However, the high tax was not the reason why the Americans were so enraged. It was the fact that the Americans had no representatives in the British Parliament. They had to pay tax to a government that did not even care about their opinions.
