Early in the morning, Russian artillery shells the city for over 30 minutes. Concurrently, Ukrainian forces repel an attack on a nuclear power plant in the Troieashchyna, which was an attempt to cut off electricity to Kyiv. Heavy fighting also occurs near the Kyiv Zoo in Shuliavka, where Ukrainian forces defend an army base.
