jan 1, 1952 - Malcolm X - Prison and joining the Nation of Islam
Description:
Malcolm X (1925 – 1965) was an American Muslim minister and human rights activist who is known for being a member of the Nation of Islam, an African American movement that combined elements of Islam with Black nationalism. He joined the organization while he was in prison for robbery. Malcolm X was told that the white people were devils, so he replaced his last name "Little" with "X" in the belief that his family name was a white slavemaster name.
