Description:

The September masssacres was a mass killing of prisoners that took place in Paris from September 2 to September 7. It was a major event of what is sometimes called the "First Terror" of the French Revolution. There were a group of prisoners being transferred to Abbaye prison and they were attacked by an armed band. They were then spread to the other prisons of the city, and the civil authorities were powerless to stop them.
