The first United States human spaceflight. Piloted by Alan Shepard, with the goal of completing a suborbital flight and then returning to earth safely. The rocket was a complete success, and paved the way for future astronauts.The rocket consisted of only 1 stage, and weighed approximately 30,000 kg ( 66,000 pounds). It had a height of 83.38 feet, and a diameter of 5.83 feet.
