jan 3, 1763 - Proclamation of 1763 (Unfavorable) A royal decree by Great Britain that forbid settling west of the Appalachian Mountains and marked the end of the Seven Years war. While this didn't directly effect a Boston merchant, the general attitude of the patriotic colonists was unfavorable towards the proclamation, with many colonists outright disregarding the order. Defeat for the colonists!
