Description:
The Allies invaded Italy, and pushed Germans into southern Europe. After Italian government collapsed, German troops poured in to halt American advancements south of Rome. Rome fell on June 4th 1944, two days before Allies move onto beaches of France. The Soviets would remember this postponement at the end of the war when making treaties.Added to timeline:
