may 17, 1954 - Brown v. Board

Description:

Linda Brown, an African American girl, wasn't allowed to go to an all-white school. The school made her transfer to an all-black school, 20 blocks away from her home. The court ruled in favor of Brown, saying segregating children because of their race can do mental damage to black children.
