oct 5, 1789 - Women's March

Description:

Nearly 7,000 angry women marched from Paris to Versailles in an act of defiance, armed with anything from pitchforks to muskets. While the nobility of Paris were feasting, the poorer people of the town were starving. Known as the Women’s March, this ended the monarchy of Versailles.
