The Supreme Court rules that women were found to be lesser than their male counterparts. The Court explicitly called on women’s “physical structure and the performance of maternal functions” when making this decision.
In Muller v. State of Oregon, the Court ruled that an Oregon law limiting women’s work hours was constitutional.
The interesting thing about this case was that it was the employer who sued the state after he was fined for making a female employee work more than 10 hours in a day.
