Description:

The first of a series of significant consumer protection laws were enacted by Congress in the 20th century and led to the creation of the Food and Drug Administration. The original Food and Drugs Act was passed by Congress on June 30th and signed by President Theodore Roosevelt, created to prevent the “manufacture, sale, or transportation of adulterated or misbranded or poisonous or deleterious food, drugs, medications, and liquors...”
