Demming is a cornerstone in the imporvement of management quality. In this year he had been invited to Japan to share quality control techniques devloped and used in the U.S. The result was a lifelong relationship, represented by the Demming Apllication Prize - still given out today , which awards companies for achieving excellent quality.

Juran was one of Demming's contemporaries in the quality movement. He had a very long career which included consultations with major companies, throughout the world. He is known for the slogan: "There is always a better way".
