Exclusion Act
Description:
Signed by President Arthur, this act was the first law that prevented a specific ethnic group to migrate to America. This is significant because this is the first time that the U.S. has actually denied a group of people based on their ethnicity which is very racist and this was supposed to last only 10 years but lasted until 1946.
