Description:
After the Battle of Cowpens, Maj Benjamin Jolly with seven or eight of his cavalry chased after Tarleton baggage train. After 12 miles, they captured two British soldiers and horses carrying the British paymaster's baggage containing gold. Patriot Thomas Young was assigned to return the prisoner and gold to camp. He encountered British cavalry who took him prisoner and regained the gold.Added to timeline:
