nov 21, 1781 - James Wood Killed

Description:

After raiding Walnut Grove Plantation, Maj "Bloody Bill" Cunninghm rode to the home of prominent Whig and Commissioner of Sequestered Property, James Wood. Woods was shot and supposedly hung him from a dogwood tree infront of his wife and yound son. Wood was the brother of Col John Wood who was also killed by Cunningham.
