Description:

Patriot Militia under the command of Capt. James Butler, with Capt. Sterling Turner surprised a Loyalist foraging party under Col. Hezekiah Williams. An exchange of shots rang out but soon ended when both sides decided to negotiate. Capt. Turner's militia agreed to let the Loyalists leave the area unharmed if they returned the stolen cattle, and Col. Williams agreed and quickly left the area.
