Description:

Tories in the vicinity of M'Callum's Ferry on Lynches Creek were murderinig and commiting depredations early in the war. Matthew Bradley, Thomas Bradley, and John Roberts, respectable citizens who had not joined either side were murdered in their homes along with other members of the Salem Black River Presbyterian Church congregation. Murders were believed to be committed by the Harrison brothers who became noted Tories.
