Description:
After the loss of his cavarly foragers, Lord Rowden made haste to the crossing on Congree Creek several miles away. Lt Col Lee destroyed the bridge and fell trees to prevent passage. Due to the heat, the Patriots were not expecting the British so were surprised by the British infantry who were able to cross the creek and disperse the Patriots allowing Lord Rowden to make passage across the creek.
