may 9, 1781 - Skirmish Ten Miles Below Orangeburg

Description:

Patriot Lt Col Harden was camped at Snipe's Horseshoe Plantation. He sent out several detachments in different directions to gather information and harass the enemy where possible. In a letter to Brig Gen Marion, he advised one patrol ten miles south of Orangeburgh got in a skirmish with an unkown force killing two and taking a Lt prisoner. The exact location or units involved are unknown at this time.
