may 1, 1781 - Skirmish at Friday's Ferry

Description:

On May 1st, some Provincials guarding Friday's Ferry, near Fort Granby, were surprised by a group of dragoons under Lt. Col. Henry Hampton. Thirteen of the enemy were killed. As well, Lt. Col. Hampton attacked another small detachment on their way to the fort and another five were killed. Numbers of men involved on both side is not recorded but the number was probably few.
