apr 29, 1780 - Lempriere'a Point

Description:

In Charles Town harbor, the British did not have access to Cooper River because of fortifications at Haddrell's and Lempriere's Point. On April 26, the British marched to Haddrell's Point. Col De Malmedy, commander of Limpriere's Point paniced thinking the British were attacking his position. He ordered a withdrawal to Fort Moultire which was disorderly causing some men who escaped by boat to land on Hog Island by mistake being captured by the British.
