Description:

On January 8, 1782, with Charles Town still heavily occupied and defended by the British, the South Carolina government met at Jacksonborough under the protection of Major General Nathanael Greene's Continental Army, which was camped at Sander's Plantation near the town of Round O. The Fourth South Carolina General Assembly elected a new governor - John Mathews - and passed two acts identifying and punishing Loyalists.
