oct 9, 1780 - Sgt McDonald bayonets Maj Gainey

Description:

During the Black River Road skirmish, Maj Gainey rode toward Georgetown with Sgt McDonald chasing him. Sgt McDonald got close enough to bayonet Gainey but the bayonet pull loose from his rifle. Gainey continued to the British line with the bayonet buried in his back. Maj Gainey survived the injury and fought in many more battles.
