Description:
Early morning of September 20, Patriot Col. William Davie circled Cornwallis position, coming from the east and located the 71st Regiment's camp at Wahab's Plantation. On the morning of September 21st, Davie surprised and surrounded some of the Loyalist, his cavalry cutting them down being unable to take prisoners due to the proximity of the 71st. Davie's force captured 120 arms and 96 horses which mounted Patriot Maj Davidson's infantry. The British lost 15 to 20 killed and 40 wounded while the Patriots had one wounded. When British reinforcements arrived, they burned the plantation house in revenge. Wahab was the Plantation of Partiot Capt Walkup who guided Col Dave's force throught the area.
