Description:

After the killing of the three men at Capt Pope's house, In retaliation, Patriots Capt. Solomon Pope and Capt. James Butler, Sr. set out to find Loyalist Capt. Cornelius "Neely" Carghill with a few men. Capt Pope over took Capt Cargill's men near the junction of Cloud Creek and the Little Saludy River which is now under Lake Murray. The Loyalists were all exterminated.
