Description:
Capt. William Ritche learned William Cunningham deserted the Patriot cause fled to Savannah. Capt. Ritche rode to Cunningham's home, beating his lame brother. He later returned and beat Cunningham's father and mother. Cunningham learned of the beating, rode to Ritche's home, shooting him twice, killing him. Cunningham then joined the British becoming know as "Bloody Bill".
