Description:

Capt William Johnson, was one of the Patriot militia sent to capture Loyalist Maj John Moore after the battle at Ramsour's Mill. They caught Moore's force near Wofford Iron Works and a skirmish ensued. Johnson captured Moore but Morre escaped when blood from Johnson's wound would not let his rifle fire as Loyalist closed on him. Johnson had the jump into a thicket to escape the approaching Loyalist horsemen.
