Description:

Elements of Pulaski’s Legion scouted the British redoubt at Matthew’s Ferry. The British fired upon the reconnaissance patrol, and Maj. Vernier suffered the loss of several men and horses. The British established an ambush at the site tested by Major Vernier. Around 7'o Clock that night, Pulaski's Legion cavalry entered the kill zone and very few escaped. The Britished abandoned Matthew's Ferry the following day.
