Description:
British Lt Col Welbore Doyle attacked and destroyed Gen Marion's camp on Snow Island. Marion's scouts reported Doyle's foragers were between his camp (Britton's Ferry) and Lynches Creek. Marion ordered Col Horry and Capt McCottry's force to attack the foragers. Horry's men killed nine and captured sixteen. Capt McCottry's men chased the remainder of the British to Witherspoon Ferry and Doyles camp. Patriots fired on the camp and the British scuttled the ferry on the far side ot the river.
