Description:

Col. Andrew Pickens and his Upper Ninety Six District Regiment of Militia were in the area foraging for rice south of Charles Town when he intercepted a party of 40 Loyalist militia. Col. Pickens captured 8 men and 40 horses. The leader of the Loyalists was a Florida lieutenant who was wounded in the arm in the brief skirmish.
