Description:
Prior to the attack on Fort Waston, Patriot Gen Thomas Sumter attempted to retake supplies captured by the British. A British supply wagon had broken down guarded by Engsin Cooper and 20 Provincial Light Infantry. Cooper refused to surrender and was attacked by Sumter's 200 men. Cooper held off Sumter's 200 until Loyalist Maj John Harrison Provincial Cavarly arrived and drove off Sumter's men.
