Description:
Patriot Gen Benjamin Lincoln ordered Capt Milligan commanding the Congress, Lee and French sloop Mary Magdalen with a force of 300 seamen to attack British galley in the Savannah river about 6 miles souht of Purrysburg. On engaging the British galley, the Congree ran ground and the Lee's crew abandoned ship without the Congree. The British captured both ships and its unknown what happened to the Mary Madgalen.
