Description:

Capt. William Butler was the son of Capt. James Butler, Sr. who had been killed at Cloud's Creek by Major William "Bloody Bill" Cunningham on November 17, 1781. Capt Butler tricked Joseph Cunningham's wife who told where the camp was located. Capt Butler's men surrounded the camp and attacked at daylight. Maj William "Bloddy Bill" Cunningham escaped to Charles Town but his militia force was either killed or captured.
