A short time after Richard Pendravis and his Tories killed Patriot Capt James Doharty, he was preparing to depart for St Augustine, Florida, a Tory safe haven. The moment of his departure at the landing, he and his friend Patterson were killed by Patriot Lt John Leacroft, one of Capt Doharty's nephews.
