feb 25, 1782 - Battle of Tydiman's Plantation (Tidyman's, Tydimon's Plantation)
Description:
After Wambaw Bridge, Gen Francis Marion's forces stopped at Mrs Phillip Tidyman's Plantation for provisions. Within half an hour after arriving, a Brtitish force appeared in the old field infront of the lane leading to the home. Patriot Capt John Smith's cavalry was ordered to charge but his troop fell into disorder on a rise to the old field. The British charged routing the Patriot cavalry but stopped near the woods where Marion rallied his troops and stopped the charge. The loss was small, four Patriots killed but the attack was stopped
