The Alice in Wonderland Ultimate Fan Event on February 19th included a very brief onstage appearance by Johnny Depp, Tim Burton, and other Alice cast members.All Johnny said onstage was “Thank you,” but during his later interview he did respond to the following question sent in by a fan:
Q: You’ve done a lot of kind of way-out-there type of roles–
Johnny Depp: Have I?
Q: Allegedly . . . . So, tell me, what is your favourite of these characters, when you create these roles?
Johnny Depp: Oh, boy, I don’t know that there can be a favourite. It was a real pleasure to play them all, and I love them all. They’re still sort of locked up in a drawer inside me. No, to pick a favourite would be very, very difficult. But any role that you can express yourself to the degree that the people who are out there respond to it and take something away from it . . . if it puts a giggle into their day or there’s something that they take home and that they can remember and laugh about later, that means everything to me.
