Bryan Burrough:
Public Enemies, Take One
Johnny Depp
Description:
I never thought I would write these words: I wish I was in Wisconsin. In fact, it's killing me that I'm not.
Here's the problem. As I mentioned in an earlier post, Hollywood is making a movie out of a book I wrote a while back, Public Enemies. The director, Michael Mann, the man behind Heat and Last of the Mohicans, and, of course, Miami Vice, is right now taking over the village of Columbus, Wisconsin, north of Madison. His crews are transforming it into a 1930s-era town whose bank will be robbed by Johnny Depp, playing John Dillinger, when filming officially begins on March 17 a week from Monday.
