Description:

Fought 18 days apart in the fall of 1777 the two battles of Saratoga were both turning points in the American Revolution. After Burgoynes' surrender after his victory 10 days earlier this American victory then convinced the French government to formally recognize the colonist cause and join the war as thier ally.
