may 2, 455 BC - Gautama gains his first followers
After becoming Buddha, Gautama gives a sermon in a deer park near the city of Varanasi. Knows as the time when the Buddha "set in motion the wheel of the law" the sermon is the first time he explains the four nobles truths, the eightfold path towards ending suffering, and the middle way between poor and luxury. Shortly afterwards, he gains his first discples.
