sep 9, 1940 - Italy Bombs Tel Aviv and Haifa
Description:
After France was defeated, the Italians set their sights on the British-controlled parts of the Middle East. Palestine was a significant area, as it held many ports and resources for Britain. As the Italians were going to the ports of Haifa, they were intercepted by the British and then began to bomb Tel Aviv. The Italians' bombing of Haifa blocked the oil refinery's production for about a month.
