feb 1, 1940 - Soviet Make Progress in Russo-Finnish War

Description:

Throughout January of 1940, the Finnish army put up a very good fight and the Soviets didn't make any advances. However, in February, the Soviets gained headway, breaching the Mannerheim Line (a Finnish defence system) with many artillery bombardments and pushed forward into the Finnish city Viipuri (now Vyborg).
