In 1902 the Coloured women’s club of montreal was founded by the wives of the black porters. All of the black women created their own charitable organization. The goal of their organization was to help stop poverty or fight back against poverty and stopping discrimination. They helped provide many clothes to families arriven from the Carribean. The club members actively volunteered in MOntreal by helping the homeless and unemployed providing counselling.Added to timeline:
