Starts Second Year (Year 8) (Toby starts Year 6) at Hillside Academy.

Tom is his Buddy for the week, showing him the school, the layout, how to get from classes, where the canteen is etc. Dominic likes him a lot but also feels breathless around him, which he doesn’t understand yet is attraction. He thinks Tom’s the most beautiful boy he’s ever seen and that frighten him.

Meets Jack Wallace in his form class, the only person other than Tom and Will who have been nice to him so far. They become quick friends when Jack can speak French too and asks to be taught how to skateboard.
