One particularly hot, starving day, Dominic takes up his best friend, Billy’s offer to hang out his house, Toby too. They get fed, eat more food than ever, play games and have a wonderful day.
However, for dinner, Debbie, Billy’s mum, calls Julianne to ask permission. They’re given it but half way through dinner, Marcus turns up and drags them out of there. Debbie promises Dominic she’ll help but nothing happens. Dominic loses faith in all adults that night and throws up down the back of Marcus’s car seat. Doesn’t eat for five days and receives a nasty beating for it.
