Bridget's obituary in the Portsmouth Herald, Nov. 29, 1909. Text reads:
"Death today claimed another of
the oldest and best known Irish residents of this city, when Mrs. Bridget
Welch, widow of the late Michael
Welch, passed away at her home on
Mast street, aged eighty-two years
and nine months.

Mrs. Welch came to America when
quite young, and the greater part of
her life has been passed in Portsmouth.
In life, the deceased was known as
a kind neighbor, and was always
ready with her assistance to 'help
those who were in need, especially
among the sick.

Her death causes 'much sorrow to
a large circle of friends and acquaintances. She is survived by one son,
John, two step-daughters Miss
Nellie Welch and Mrs. Mary Collins, two brothers, Patrick Sullivan of
Charlestown and Michael Sullivan of
Ansonia, Conn."
